Jon Jacobs served nearly three decades as a senior manager and attorney-advisor in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Washington, D.C. Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance and the Office of Administrative Law Judges. There he specialized in civil and criminal litigation involving chemicals and pesticides violations, as well as focusing on regulatory and policy development matters. He draws on his experience at EPA where he served as a Deputy Division Director and Branch Chief in the Office of Civil Enforcement supervising enforcement matters affecting numerous industrial sectors, including pesticide producers, chemical manufacturers, and agribusinesses. In 2000, Jon joined EPA’s criminal enforcement program and from 2002 to 2006 was a regional criminal enforcement counsel prosecuting environmental crimes under all of EPA’s statutes as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Since entering private practice in 2014 he has concentrated on these practice areas from advocacy to enforcement defense while also addressing issues pertaining to climate change, carbon sequestration, and life cycle assessments. During his career, Jon received numerous EPA medal awards for exceptional and outstanding service. He also served as an instructor and judge at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and EPA’s National Enforcement Training Institute.
