Betsy has diverse expertise in the areas of sustainability, environmental, health, and safety which are based in a thorough understanding of effective management procedures. Her project management experience includes greenhouse gas emission reduction and climate action planning; global climate change adaptation work; quality, environmental, health, and safety management system development; compliance auditing; and regulatory compliance support. She works collaboratively with federal agencies, public entities, and communities to develop climate action plans and integrate sustainability initiatives into existing management procedures. Betsy currently serves as a council member of the American National Standards Institute – American Society for Quality National Accreditation Board, the U.S. accreditation body for management systems certification bodies. She also served as a contributor to the American Public Transit Association (APTA) Recommended Practice: Guidelines for Climate Action Planning, and has presented at several national conferences on the topics of climate change risk assessments for asset management as well as integrated approaches to climate change, sustainability, and adaptation.
