Ligon Dan

Dan is an environmental and GIS specialist with an educational background in marine science. While earning his undergraduate degree in Marine Biology, he took part in field studies related to salt marsh dynamics, fish assessments, and shellfish conservation. After graduation, he completed a GIS Certificate Program at Michigan State University, which included applications of geospatial technology and geographic information systems, geodatabase use and integration, principles of cartography, remotely sensed imagery interpretation, and spatial analysis using ESRI ArcGIS Pro applications and extensions.

Dan provides in-field GIS data collection and support to several of First Environment’s market areas, including insurance and litigation support, as well as site investigation and remediation. He is proficient in various field investigative and monitoring techniques, as well as applicable field sampling procedures. Dan also leverages his GIS capabilities to provide support to expert witness testimony services, which included groundwater modeling to uphold First Environment’s testimony
