Development

First Environment has broad expertise in development of emission reduction projects.  Our firm has been extensively involved in the development of the ISO 14064 series of climate change standards, including Part 2, Specification with guidance at the project level for quantification, monitoring, reporting of greenhouse gas emission reductions or removal enhancements.  First Environment has assisted with emission reduction project development ranging from baseline methodology design to project feasibility and financial projections.

Emission Reduction Project Development Services

First Environment assists project developers with the determination of baseline scenarios and emissions quantification methodologies, including the application of life cycle approaches.  We design monitoring methodologies and plans to enhance completeness, transparency, and accuracy of project data. We also support the development of project design documents, ensuring their compliance with program criteria and requirements.

Verification

First Environment has broad expertise in verification of emission reduction projects. Our firm has been extensively involved in the development of the ISO 14064 series of climate change standards, including Part 3, Specification with guidance for the validation and verification of greenhouse gas assertions.  First Environment has participated in verification activities ranging from validations of CDM projects in South America under the Kyoto Protocol with an Operational Entity partner to verification of landfill gas offset projects to create certified emission offsets for the Chicago Climate Exchange.
